If you watch my Youtube videos, you may have seen my Ulta haul I did a few weeks ago. I was so excited to finally see some cool[er] weather that I bought foundation. I let my Youtube obsession influence me, and bought something that I had seen in a video recently. I was so excited to see a liquid foundation that was in between fair and medium shades and wasn't warm-toned that I went for it.
Fast forward to a few weeks later, I noticed that even with a primer, my face was absurdly oily... even though I only had it on for 2 hours! Now, my skin is generally combination and not terribly oily if I wash my face in the morning (which I almost always do) and put on primer before the rest of my routine. But this product just made my face feel awful! I felt like my face of makeup was melting off even in the AC.
After a week or so of struggling and testing it with and without primer, I came to a conclusion that the culprit was L'Oreal's faulty foundation.
Ratings (with 1 being least desirable and 10 being most desirable)
- Coverage: 7.5/10. This formula was not full coverage by any means, but not as sheer as my tinted moisturizer. Out of all areas, this is where it excelled.
- Texture: 5/10. "Super blendable" must be keyword for sticky... because it didn't blend nearly as much as I wanted it to.
- Longevity: 2/10. Even with a primer, it was hardly on my face by the end of my 10 hour school day and I looked like a blotchy mess.
- Breathability: 4/10. I definitely thought that it was too heavy of a formula, but that might be the persistent humidity in my area. Still, I've used lighter.
Needless to say, this product went back to Ulta this afternoon. I bought the Neutrogena Shine Control makeup and Rimmel's Stay Matte pressed powder to replace it. Hopefully that'll help calm the shine.
